Is it hard to get around in Mexico without being able to speak(read) spanish?

I need to fly to tucson AZ and the rent a car and drive to Hermosillo,Sonara, Mexico….But I can’t read or speak Spanish at all….Is this possible….Please don’t tell me to fly because that just isn’t an option..Do you know how long it would take?
