Would Spanish-speaking people be insulted if I attempted to speak in Spanish to them?

I work at a Dunkin Donuts, and many of my customers are hispanic, and some know little to no english. I feel that it would make things easier if I attempted to speak to them in the barely-conversational spanish that I know from the classes that I took up to my junior year of high school.

So from a native speaker point of view, if someone who didn’t know Spanish that well, but tried to speak Spanish to you, would you take this as insulting?
